Time, a concept I have been literally trying to grasp. It’s fleeting. It’s the measurement we use to tell us how fast something travels. It’s so thought provoking, time, because in the end, time truly does crush all.
Idle Hands have left us with a debut EP full of beautifully crafted songs and depressing lyrics, but they aren’t your typical doom and gloom lyrics.
It’s a journey through personal struggles and how just sitting there nothing changes. It’s resonating, because for probably the first time ever, it makes sense.
The music is heavy, yet not pulverizing. You can hear the influences in much of the songs. From heavy metal to the Breakfast Club track Can You Hear the Rain (I picture Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald from that movie every time I put it on), it’s uncanny how much it is encapsulates every emotion. The musicianship throughout is amazing. It leaves you wanting more.
I can’t wait to see what this band puts out next, because I am a fan of this. These dudes are talented. This is just an EP, I can’t wait to see what they do on a full length.
